Its Okay to Change Your Mind

It's Okay to Change Your Mind Do you value doing what you state you will do? As in appearing at meet a companion in any event, when it gets badly designed, or finishing your work task despite the fact that it implies working late and missing a night out with companions? As a high achiever, you most likely set elevated requirements for yourself and put forth an admirable attempt to not allow individuals to down. Possibly you even highly esteem living as indicated by your qualities and put focus on yourself to be an individual of your assertion. While this is outstanding, when taken to boundaries it tends to be counterproductive. Not all that you state as an aim needs to turn into a deep rooted duty or purpose of trustworthiness. Rather, it's essential to know, initially, that you reserve the option to adjust your perspective, and furthermore, to realize when to allow yourself to alter your perspective. As I learned on an ongoing get-away in California, there are times when allowing yourself to adjust your perspective is the reasonable activity. One of my can list encounters Before our latest family excursion, I declared to my family that I was going to take a riding exercise did they need to come as well? This was an open greeting, yet regardless of whether nobody needed to go along with me, I was going to surf. Not exclusively was there no intrigue, my better half looked confounded and asked, Would you say you are certain you need to do that? That is the point at which I clarified it was actually the sort of thing I needed to do. I love a test and this would push me. Plus, I've consistently been intrigued by surfing and passed up the chance to check out it years back when my better half took our more seasoned two girls for an exercise (I remained with our 5-year old on the sea shore). He delayed, at that point stated, You understand that you'll be rowing around in more profound water and sitting tight for waves. That part will resemble paddle boarding. How might I overlook my first (and last!) paddle board experience where I got so nauseous that I hurled on my board while rowing back to shore? Out of nowhere, surfing didn't appear such a smart thought any longer. Be that as it may, surfing was on my basin list of life encounters I needed to have. What's more, I said I would do it, so didn't I need to do it in any case? You don't need to do all that you state you will do At long last, I didn't take the riding exercise. I at last observed the imprudence in adhering to an arrangement I had enunciated without thoroughly considering it. Be that as it may, it took me an abundant excess time getting over the sentiments of blame about not accomplishing something I said I would do, regardless of whether it had no effect to any other person (and was going to make me wiped out). 5 Takeaways To abstain from having a similar situation happen for you, here are five takeaways I'd prefer to share. Try not to befuddle communicating an aim with making a long lasting duty or giving your statement. Not all that you state you'll do needs to convey a similar weight. Be insightful before focusing on a person or thing at the start. It's simpler to announce a goal than to loosen up its belongings. Keep reexamining the data to ensure what you said you would do in any case bodes well. Time and vitality are valuable. Remain open to an adjustment in plan that produces better results for everybody. Individuals like to win. Also, when you do need to alter your perspective, impart the change (and your purposes behind it) in an opportune way. That way, individuals will have the opportunity to modify. It's alright to adjust your perspective Most importantly it's alright to alter your perspective. It can even be something to be thankful for. It isn't putting your uprightness in danger. It isn't allowing others to down. It's rethinking the circumstance, tuning in to yourself and focusing on being deft, adaptable and tolerating of progress. So when things change â€" regardless of whether it's new data or an alternate circumstance â€" it's essential that you allow yourself to adjust your perspective. Particularly when somebody (perhaps you!) will languish over no rhyme or reason. Presently I need to get notification from you. When was simply the last time you permitted to adjust your perspective and what was the result? Leave a remark and let me know.

How to Avoid the #1 Career Mistake Not Having a Mentor - Hallie Crawford

How to Avoid the #1 Career Mistake Not Having a Mentor - Hallie Crawford We talk about mentors a lot- from softball coaches to swimming trainers to a high school teacher. When we are growing up, almost every adult could be considered a mentor for one reason or another. But many times when we enter the workforce, the general idea seems to be that our training is finished and we no longer need a mentor. Unfortunately, this is a huge mistake. Our success in the business world can be directly connected to whether or not we have a mentor. Having a career mentor can help us continue to grow, to make better business decisions, to find our career direction, and give us the motivation we need. The following tips can help you to avoid this mistake and find a mentor to help you be successful in your field. Look for a mentor program within your company. Many companies offer a mentor program, but it may not be advertised. Check with work mates who have been with the company for a while to see if there is anyone available to mentor. However, keep in mind that the person with the most seniority in your current company may not be the best choice for a mentor. Find someone who can help you with your career goals, who you respect and can look up to as a good example. If you are a woman, your mentor doesnt necessarily have to be a woman, and the same is true with men. Action tip: Take some time to think about what you would like to learn and in what areas you would most benefit from having a mentor. Now think about who could help you the most in those areas in your current company and ask them if they would be willing to be your mentor, explaining to them the qualities you admire and the things you want to learn from them. Take your mentoring relationship seriously. If you want to have a mentor, you have to be serious about keeping in touch with them regularly to benefit from their wisdom and expertise. Many choose to make a formal agreement to help both parties take their new relationship seriously. Make a schedule together and stick to it. Decide together whether you will meet weekly, monthly or something else based on your goals. Otherwise, you mentor will probably feel that he could have chosen a different, more appreciative person to mentor. Remember that having a mentor is an asset and view them as your biggest supporter. Action tip: Decide on an action plan before you meet with your mentor. What would be doable with your current schedule for you to get the most out of a mentor relationship? Are there any projects you could work on together? Is there a specific part of the company or business world you would love to know more about? Share your plans with your mentor, but be willing to be flexible based on his or her availability. You can have more than one mentor. Perhaps you want to learn the management aspect of your department from one experienced colleague, but admire the forward thinking of another? You can learn from them both! Many think they can only choose one mentor at a time, but you can really learn from multiple mentors. Keep in mind that you may not need one mentor for as long as another, and make sure to let your mentors know that you are being mentored in other areas. This can help them really focus in on the specific areas you want them to help you in. Action tip: If you are having trouble identifying that one perfect person to be your mentor that is OK. Create a list of three people you respect that have qualities you would benefit from learning. Approach them separately and ask them if they would help you with a certain area while others help you in a different area. Follow the same steps as above. Please Share This

Things to Know About Applicant Tracking System - ResumeGet

Things to Know About Applicant Tracking System Things to Know About Applicant Tracking System? What Do You Know About Applicant Tracking System? If you have heard of ATS, but never taken it seriously, it is high time you finally did. Over 98% of Fortune 500 companies use an applicant tracking system to filter resumes before they even get to the HR’s table. ATS shape the entire picture of the job seeking process, which is now not limited only by recruiter’s judgment. Therefore, you should learn how to make your resume stand out from many other resumes submitted to ATS. What is ATS? Applicant Tracking System is special software, which serves recruiting, hiring, and human resource management purposes. If you apply online for a position in a big company, your resume is likely to be processed by ATS first. Utilizing some algorithms, it selects certain resumes for a human recruiter to look through. If your resume is not optimized according to ATS algorithms, you risk being never invited to the HR’s office. Why To Use ATS? Big companies receive thousands of resumes for hundred s of openings they have. Recruiters and hiring agents cannot process, assess those resumes and select the best ones. Many underqualified employees send their resumes as well to try their chances, and this makes it almost impossible for HR professionals to identify and select the right candidate. ATS serves as a depository for all resumes, organizing applicants in the top-down order. Those, whose resumes are optimized according to ATS algorithms and rank high, have all chances to be invited to the interview. ATS Come in Different Shape and Form There are many different ATS systems in use. They have become so popular that Kelly OCG survey suggests that 66% of big companies and 35% of small ones use some recruitment software. If you apply to a well-established company, there are many chances that your resume will be sorted by ATS. Therefore, make sure to fine-tune your resume before applying online. How Applicant Tracking Systems Work ATSs are designed to collect and store resumes. Hir ing professionals have access to these databases and can search or sort through this resumes in an attempt to fill in the new opening. Your resume, which you sent for any previous position, can be stored and used for a new opening. No surprise if you are invited to the interview later. The systems organize applicants, placing highly skilled candidates above others. It also has rankings, which serve for scanning resumes and comparing them with the initial job descriptions. Hiring managers may use filters to select resumes with a great match of key skills and titles. This eliminates candidates who did not mention those skills or have not previously worked on this position. Why Format is Important Regardless of the fact that ATSs are widely used, their algorithms may be outdated and unintelligent. Therefore, some creative and complex resumes may be scanned improperly, which may lead to the loss of important information and keywords. The advice is not to use tables, keep the format simp le, outline dates and facts clearly, and save the file in .docx or .pdf formats. What to Do to Pass Through ATS First of all, tailor your resume to every position you apply to. Read and address job descriptions you found online. Think and use keywords that may define your skills or are critical for your industry. Focus on the most meaningful information in your work experience section. Do not be afraid of simple, black and white resume templates if you want to pass through ATS. Instead of fooling ATS using keywords that are out of your competence, focus on crafting the resume, which sells your talents best. Making your resume look well and sound great is exactly what professional resume writers do. So if you are sure you can manage it yourself, do it, or contact resume writing companies to make your resume pass the ATS and win the desired position for you.

Job Searching How to Avoid a Bad Fit

Job Searching How to Avoid a Bad Fit Most job seekers commence a job search with a rather wide  objective: to get a job.   Yet, often people forget to  consider what type of job they truly want, or fail to evaluate how the role matches their short and long-term goals and current skill sets. Can you relate? Skipping the job assessment step is one of the leading causes of bad-fit placements, and poor job placements can negatively impact an entire career path and quality of life. The US News recently published an article Avoid Accepting a Job That is a Bad Fit, which I contributed to.   In preparation for my pitch I gathered lots of content on this topic, including the following tips that can help job seekers better assess employment opportunities to ensure better-fit placements: 1. Review  employee feedback. Search for commonalities in employee discontent, which are a big red flag.   When conducting research on a company (on a site like Glassdoor.com) you will likely come across lots of undesirable employee feedback, but repetitive and consistent comments around similar issues, including company culture, work-life balance, or process confusion should be cause for concern.     2. Evaluate company social media pages (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn) and carefully read poor reviews or negative comments. Check out the LinkedIn profiles (or social media accounts) of employees in the company to see what types of company details they share.  Finally, do  employees have blogs you can locate and scour?  Make note of the topics shared and the overall tone used when addressing work requirements and company culture.   3. Reach out and connect with current employees (through your network or through LinkedIn) to conduct informational interviews.  Ask open-ended questions specific to job satisfaction, company perception, work-life balance, and company culture.  Dont force or pry, but start a conversation that gets information flowing. Make careful note of discontent or troubles and try to delve deeper. 4. Analyze organizational performance. Read company websites and do a Google search for recently published information on the organization.   Has the company been in the news lately; if so, on what issues?   Has recent company coverage in the media been positive or has there been indication of poor performance or financial challenges?  Set up Google alerts to get latest notices and posts and watch for any red flags regarding restructuring, downsizing, or layoff notices. 5. Ask good questions during the interview. If you get selected for an interview, use the opportunity to flesh out the company culture and identify job fit.   Ask things like: Can you describe the work environment here?, or Are there formal metrics in place for measuring and rewarding performance over time?, or even Do you foresee this job involving significant amounts of overtime or work on the weekends?.   If the interviewer struggles to answer positively, or answers defensively, you should consider these warnings that require further investigation. Take this example A recent client of mine interviewed at an insurance firm which required on-call work.   During the interview she took the opportunity to ask about the company’s vacation policy and overtime pay for on-call work, to which she was told there was limited paid time-off for overtime accrued.   If the client  hadnt  specifically  asked she may have found herself in a job with no support for work-life balance and less overall compensation.   Suffice it to say she turned down the offer and felt better knowing her reasoning supported her personal objectives. If you do find yourself in a role that seems to be a poor fit, start by seeking opportunities for improvement.   Request additional or focused training.   Provide constructive feedback with superiors to gauge reaction and garner potential support.  Pursue new tasks or challenges in better-suited areas.  If all attempts at improvement fail you will likely have to explore other opportunities and get yourself back into the job search. Yet moving forward apply the above tips and strategies to avoid future set-backs.

The totality of McKinsey's exploration offers impressive help for this linkage, and presents a convincing contention for more noteworthy sexual orientation assorted variety inside enterprises. The report likewise incorporates subtleties from an investigation, which inferred that organizations that elevate ladies to senior administration positions appreciate prevalent monetary execution, particularly organizations that are centered around advancement. Ladies, they state, bring a reciprocal arrangement of relational administration aptitudes, for example, comprehensiveness, and speak to other representative voices. Rampell kept in touch with her piece ahead of time of Equal Pay Day 2014, the representative token of how far into 2014 ladies would need to work to make up for lost time to the wages earned by men a year ago, because of the stubborn sexual orientation pay hole which occurred in April. She composes, And maybe the best contention for why recruiting ladies will support your company's main concern: They still, incredibly, come at a rebate. In any event for the present. She includes, Some of the hole is clarified by the sorts of occupations ladies go into, either by decision or opportunity. However, even inside occupations, ladies quite often gain not exactly their male partners. Of the considerable number of occupations the Bureau of Labor Statistics distributed information for a year ago, just three indicated ladies getting higher middle week by week income than their male partners: bread cooks; discount and retail purchasers; and various PC related occupations. In any event, controlling for variables, for example, experience, industry and association status despite everything leaves about 40?percent of the all out sex pay hole unexplained.

How to Write an Effective Career Objective for Your Resume

How to Write an Effective Career Objective for Your ResumeSo many people think that their prospective RAs think that they need to write a resume for the first time after completing their career assessment. This isn't true and it would be wrong to tell people this so they continue to believe the myth that they need to do this in order to get a job.The majority of successful careers start with what's called a RAS (ready to begin). This means you've done all the hard work up to this point and you're ready to begin applying for jobs. That's where you start looking for employment with one of the many recruiters out there looking for people like you who are ready to start their careers. So the question becomes: how do you start a career assessment? You start by taking the A level subjects, or whichever subjects you chose to study in your specific subject area. For example, if you studied history and you're studying Roman Law in your A-level subjects, you'll be asked a few questions about wh at you want to do in your life after your studies. You then can start looking for college courses in whatever subject you chose at the start of your studies. After the college courses, you could then choose to go on to higher education if you want to and a career assessment will come afterwards. Whether you choose a career assessment or apply for employment right away is down to you.If you choose to apply for employment right away, a career objective will still be useful because it will provide you with some basic information about the job and the position, which are usually a starting point for interviews. After you have found a job, you can then go through the steps necessary to create a career objective. To find out about the best way to go about creating a career objective for yourself, it is always best to do some research before you make a decision. There are plenty of websites devoted to career assessments, so it should not be difficult to find a suitable resource for you.As we ll as the good research that you should do to ensure that your career objective is perfect, you should also use it as a guide to help you create a resume. You should take advantage of the information on your career assessment in order to learn about different types of positions and companies and what kind of candidate you are to get a job.A career objective is something that most applicants for a job take for granted but it is a critical piece of documentation that should be able to provide you with all the details that you need to apply for a position. It should be prepared in an easily understandable format, easy to read and a job objective is something that most people can understand.

Work from Home. Really.

Work from Home. Really. FlexJobs (www.flexjobs.com) has recently launched a new and improved version of its website. Its an online job site dedicated to legitimate, flexible telecommuting jobs.  The jobs are hand-screened, so there are no junk jobs, and there are almost 100 job categories: entry level  to executive, full-time to freelance.   The site offers a great variety of home and commute balance lifestyles.   You can elect short-term contracts or periodic work or consider full time jobs that require some or almost no travel from your home. The idea of working for home is very attractive, but its hard to find jobs that pay well and arent multi-level marketing plans.   For $14.95 a month or $49.95 a year, FlexJobs claims to save you the time and energy spent digging for the real jobs buried below scams and ads.   The terms of use are easy to understand and you can end your contract with little effort at any time.   The site offers helpful articles on starting or managing a telecommuting career.   It also provides reviews of the companies that post jobs; it appears that the staff really makes contact and does research to weed out companies that don’t provide actual jobs. You start by setting up an online profile (or more than one; you can name your various profiles and set up different   job preferences for each.) You can attach a resume and choose up to five categories of jobs you’re interested in.   You can also choose jobs by location (some jobs do require regional knowledge or occasional travel to clients or an office.) You list equipment you have in your home office (important for telecommuting) such as Mac / PC computers, your online connection speed, and certifications you have that may be helpful. As I browsed jobs, I found everything from online customer service to education (teaching online classes or tutoring) to business analyst jobs and scientific research.   Creative jobs included everything from full time online content writing to freelance graphic design.   Some jobs are merely home based because they don’t require relocation to a specific city; there might be extensive travel involved. In other words, you’d be working “from home” but not “at home.”   Business jobs included  executive management of national territories accounting sales finance, credit and mortgage    Nonprofits were well represented as well.   If you’re research-oriented, you can browse product development, technical writing or project management opportunities.      Bilingual customer service and translation jobs were plentiful, as are medical coding and transcription jobs. Job postings usually contained helpful information about required equipment, certifications or insurance you might need for the job.   If you’ve been looking for a way to sort through the scams and misleading offers of work from home, FlexJobs may be the tool you need.

Women and Financial Security

Women and Financial Security By Cina Coren Lifestyles certainly have changed over the last decade or so. When I look around me at the many ways people live, I am always amazed at the variety of family patterns. What used to be considered a classic family unitfather, mother and two childrenis no longer typical at all. And the concept of the husband being the bread winner while the wife stays home with the children has gone the way of the icebox. Yup, there’s been quite a lot of changes for women and men in the 50 years since Betty Friedan wrote “The Feminine Mystique.” First of all, let’s talk about statistics. Despite the adjustments in the way mothers and fathers spend their time in the past half-century, with Dads becoming more involved in child care and Moms working longer hours outside the home, neither spouse has managed to overtake the other in their “traditional” realms. Instead, their roles have converged and not always for the better. In fact,  the most recent Pew Research Center report indicated that this new family ‘equality’ has resulted in 56% of working moms and 50% of working dads admitting to the difficulty in balancing the combined responsibilities of work and family life. Mothers’ attitudes toward work have changed considerably in recent years. Of those mothers with children under age 18, 32% say they would prefer to work full time, an increase of 12% since 2007.  This increase may be due to our difficult economic times wherein families require a two-person income in order to make ends meet. Children? How Many When it comes to the number of children in a family, it’s surprising to note that the average family has really not changed much at all. Though one might expect to hear that families are having fewer children, the exact opposite seems to be the trend, the only change being the type of family these kids are born into. A noted sociologist, Dr. Steve Martin (no not the comedian!) recently reported that 28 percent of women age 35 to 44, who were approaching the end of their childbearing years, had three kids or more. A decade ago, the figure stood at 25 percent. He also found that the numbers for younger women havent changed much, either. What is even more interesting was that, contrary to popular belief,  it was the professional and wealthy moms who are having bigger families with twice as many kids at home, on average, than their high-powered counterparts did back in 1977. Martin also found that college-educated women who put off motherhood until their mid- 30’s were suddenly having families almost as big as everyone elses. The man’s role in the family income had not altered significantly with most males continuing to work out of the home and assuming the burden of the family’s financial responsibility. One Parent, Two Parents More households today are likely to consist of only one parent or two parents of the same sex, usually females. Since recent reports indicate a reduced income level for these family units, these heads of households are always stressed as to how to make ends meet. I wasn’t able to uncover any evidence that this stress was significantly more than the stress exhibited by married women but one can assume that it was to a certain degree. In general, I have always felt that women should be able to stand on their own financially no matter what type of home they live in or what their marital status is. Even professional parents in a typical family unit should consider ways of enhancing their income over and above their normal employment. None of us should have to depend entirely on another person for our security and survival. There are choices out there as to how we can do this but probably learning how to invest your money is the easiest and most popular way to make some extra cash. It is quite surprising that although there are more and more women in the workplace, the number of female investors has hardly increased over the years. I often wonder if women are still hesitant to pit themselves against men who have dominated the field for centuries. What is it that keeps us from forging ahead on Wall Street or Hong Kong? It’s never too late to start something new and so I have undertaken to learn how to trade currencies and binary options as they seem to be very popular at the moment. Once I feel confident enough and find the right Forex broker, I will try it out for awhile and then I will decide where I want my fortune to come fromâ€"stocks, bonds, currencies… I feel more secure about my future just thinking about it. Care to join me?

How To Obtain A German Working Visa CareerMetis.com

How To Obtain A German Working Visa Germany has one of the most robust economies in the world. In fact, it ranks as the fourth largest by nominal GDP. It only lags behind the US, China, and Japan. To foreigners, this aspect of the developed nation, officially the Federal Republic of Germany, comes as a strong motivator for moving. Understandably, people outside the country would like to have their chance to work and earn a decent income, and lead a better life here.evalThere are great employment opportunities in Germany, where the highest paid professions are in the fields of Medicine and Dentistry, Law, Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science.Depending on your professional background, it is also noteworthy that Germany is home to many great artists, athletes, and inventors. So it should not be difficult to find yourself a niche you are familiar with while living in this highly industrialized nation with a great work-life balance. So the question here is focused on how to obtain a German working visa. The answers c an be straightforward, however, it may also vary according to one’s country of origin and profession.Work Permit for EU NationalsevalHistorically, Germany is one of the founders of the EU in 1993. One of the benefits of being a EU citizen is that you would not need to secure a visa to enter Germany.Additionally, if you already have a German residence permit, due to the integrated economy, this simultaneously allows you to apply for work and become officially employed Citizens in this aforementioned category who are interested to apply for work in Germany only need to apply personally at a German Embassy or Consulate and present the following requirements:Valid passport with at least one or two additional copiesTwo or more passport photographsFurnish a copy of contract of employmentValid IDs like driver’s license and proof of billingPayment of the visa feeIt is best to keep a copy of all requirements submitted, plus bring along pertinent documents like a letter of intent from the employer, and your educational records.Having formally applied for a residence visa for work, the German diplomatic office shall contact the immigration department and communicate your intention to seek for a job. The Federal Employment Agency shall process and, once approved, inform the diplomatic office where you applied, of the status of your visa. The average span of time for processing a working visa is around eight to twelve weeks. However, for citizens of the EU and aforementioned states, the process can be considerably shorter. Also, in the absence of criminal records or other legal obstructions, the approval of the working visa application shall be swiftly handled.evalFor non-EU citizens who want to obtain a German work visa, the whole process can be more difficult, and will require some time and patience. It is quite possible that many interested applicants under this classification might be disapproved on various grounds that will be further discussed. However, once initia lly granted permit, candidates are given a three-month period to enter Germany and complete the filing of work permits there.Reason for Tougher Qualifications for Non-EU Nationals and ForeignersWhile Germany has a positive immigration program that is designed to help the country cope with its aging population, its immigration laws and regulations remain strict. There may be an increasing need to fill up specialized positions in various industries throughout the nation, such as in engineering, but employers are required to explain why they want to hire someone living outside Germany instead of a preferential candidate. So companies cannot just hire anyone quickly as they wish.Germany is also highly populated with eighty three million inhabitants, which means that for a non-citizen to land a job there can be very challenging. The preference in job hiring is in this order:German citizensEU nationalsForeignersTherefore, even if a foreigner is well educated and skilled for the field he/s he is applying for, it is imperative that this order of job hiring is followed if qualified German or EU candidates are available. Since Germany offers a tuition-free university education with a high quality of educational standard, possessing a basic bachelor’s degree might not be enough to clinch a skilled employment. You would need a master’s degree to compete, and even that wouldn’t guarantee you to stand out. Plus, it is very important to learn to speak the language clearly. Regardless of one’s qualifications or education, German employers would not want to struggle to simply convey simple instructions in the workplace and have to hurdle past the communication barrier.Requirements for Non-EU Citizens to Obtain a German Working VisaevalRequirements for a German working permit depends on the job classification you are applying for, namely: general employment, specialized professional, or as an entrepreneur.First, you will need to submit filled out forms personally at the German diplomatic office and pay for the application fee of € 60.For general employment application purposes, the following documents are needed:Submission of two passport size photographsA valid passport Still, despite the immediate qualifications, it is imperative that you must be able to sustain yourself financially, and must prove it with pertinent financial documentation. Under this criterion, in addition to the filled out work visa form, skilled employees must submit:Contract of employment from German employer (with job details and employment description)Passport size photographs (two copies)Passport (with photocopy)Documents supporting your professional experience and specialized skillsHow to Apply for Work Permit as an Entrepreneur in GermanyFor foreigners to work as an entrepreneur in Germany it is not enough to just present a viable business model. First and foremost, it must be a business type in which the German government is in need of, and will unqualifiedly benefit from especially from an economic point of view. That it must have an impact to society must be proven upon application, such as being able to offer new job opportunities to local inhabitants, or contribute considerably to government income. If you can prove that your business is sustainable and beneficial, additional documents must be submitted to prove that you have sufficient investment capital to cover for your proposed business model to kick-start your visa application for self-employment in Germany.Personally submitting a filled up form for a German work visa, the following needs to be furnished:Two passport size photographsPassport (with 2 photocopies)Documents containing your business model, including your work experience, and investment projections, pertinent proofs to show that it is beneficial and, therefore, meets the basic requirements.Bank deposit or any proof of financial capability necessary for the businessIf you are still doubtful about your qualifications, you may f urther consult Bradford Jacobsand come out with more confident solutions and knowledge of the proper documents to submit for a faster working visa approval.

How to Prepare for an Interview

How to Prepare for an Interview The interview is scheduled!   You are ecstatic, as well you should be!   But now what?   How will you prepare for an interview?   Now that the interview is scheduled, you can really begin preparing and practicing! Youve already done some preliminary research on the company, but now its time to dig deep. The more you know about the company, its competitors and the overall market, the smarter youll appear. Too often people fail to do thorough research and find themselves in a role or company that isnt what they expected. 10 most important steps  to prepare for an interview 1. Get a copy of the most current and/or in-depth job description Heres why you need to ask someone in the company for the job description. What theyve posted online may not be the full description or even the most recent version of the job requirements. It isnt unusual for a  company to have a different version of the job description for use internally.  It may be more descriptive. Theres nothing wrong with asking the person scheduling the interview if they can send you the full job description. You may even reach out to someone you know inside the company and ask what they can find on the internal job posting site. 2. Prepare a STAR story for each of the job requirements. Go through each requirement listed in the job posting and develop an answer for how you meet that specific requirement. A  STAR story is a concise and thorough way of mapping out what you did and what the outcome was.  Read more here. If you dont have the exact skills the company is asking for, chances are you have done something similar. Develop that story! 3. Prepare answers to the most common interview questions and practice out loud Here is a list of the most popular questions to these questions. It is so important to practice each answer out loud. It sounds different when you speak your answer. Consider video recording yourself to evaluate your answer. Keep refining it until you own it. It shouldnt sound rehearsed. It should sound natural! This takes practice! 4. Craft your opening statement or the answer to tell me about yourself You can pretty much count on this question being asked, so prepare the best 1-minute response. The trick is to answer the question as if you were being asked, why should we hire you. Remember, you only have one minute to summarize the MOST IMPORTANT qualifications.  Heres a template: Tell me about yourself 5. Research the company Use the company website to see what the say about themselves. You may even notice on their career page they have interviews with employees and information on what it is like to work there. But dont stop here. Google the company and see what news is being mentioned. Sleuth the company (and interviewers) on LinkedIn. Check out anonymous employee reviews on  Glassdoor . If you cant find the company listed anywhere, then visit your local library and speak to a reference librarian! Before the interview, you should reach out to your network and ask what people know about the company. Do this BEFORE you accept an offer. The information you obtain will help you assess the company. Be prepared to answer all of these questions:   What do you know about us? What do we do? Who are our competitors? Why do you want to work here? 6. Know something about the people who will be interviewing you! Thank goodness for LinkedIn. Go ahead and see where your interviewers used to work, what organizations and groups they belong to and even check out the recommendations others have written about them. You may want to search for them on Facebook and Google too. 7. Prepare smart questions you will ask! In order to thoroughly understand the job and company, youll want to ask questions! There is a lot you want to know besides just the pay and benefits. Ask questions to learn what will be expected of you, how the team functions and more. Do not wait until the end of the interview to ask your questions. The best interview will be a conversation so plan to ask your questions throughout the interview.  Get more ideas here 8. Know what the format of the interview will be If you havent been told what the format of the interview will be, it is your right to ask. You want to be prepared and knowing the format will help you feel more comfortable. Will you be meeting one-on-one, as a panel, via phone, Skype or online video, and how long is the scheduled to last. 9. Bring copies of your resume for each person you will be interviewing with, just in case Dont assume everyone will have a copy of your resume. The copy they have may be an ugly text version, so bring the nicely formatted resume. Printing it on nice quality paper isnt required, however, it does seem more professional. And if you really want to WOW the interviewers, consider bringing an infographic resume to supplement your traditional text resume. 10. Know exact dates If you havent completed an application yet, be sure you have the exact dates and information to complete the application. No, you cant say see attached resume. You need to fully and accurately complete the job application. It is a legal document, so do not lie, exaggerate or embellish. Want to download this checklist? Ive created an easy one-page resource for you  The 10 Step Job Interview Prep Checklist. These are some extra points to remember as you head into your interview! Always, always ask what the next steps in the process are and when you can follow up before you leave the interview. Send a Thank You letter that will knock their socks off! You can learn how here.
